Significant news from DC, as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer indicates support for a continuing resolution, meaning the Senate will likely approve funding through September 30 and avoid a government shutdown. US steel and aluminum tariffs officially took effect this week, with Canada and the EU quickly striking back with retaliatory tariffs of their own. And while it wasn’t front page news, momentum seems to be building for the tax reconciliation bill, with Speaker Johnson expecting it on the House floor by Easter.
